Frankly Speaking ...
- Robert M. Franklin
- At Chautauqua Institution listening to phenomenal speakers (Donna Brazile, James Forbes, William Whatley, Raphael Warnock, Dwight Andrews, Judge Leah Sears Ward, Dr. Cheryl Goffney Franklin, Helene Gayle, Azira Hill, Jawanza Colvin). People are beginning to ask 'how can non- African Americans help to solve the problem of mass incarceration of black males?' Finally, we're broadening the conversation into a public discourse. What are your thoughts?
(P.S. And, I hope you'll come to visit and learn next summer when I begin as Director of the Religion Dept. Nine U.S. presidents have spoken here along with Booker T. Washington who was first African American speaker. During the nine week summer season, past performers have included Barbara Smith Conrad, the Temptations, Smokey, Bill Cosby, Travis Tritt, Amy Grant, Garrison Keillor and this Friday, Michael McDonald.)
